R.I.P. LeRoi Moore

Saxophonist and founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, LeRoi Moore unexpectedly passed away yesterday. Anybody who knows me, knows I have been a big fan of the Dave Matthews Band for years. Love them or hate them, they are one of the many bands who have inspired me over the years and helped me develop my love for music. LeRoi was an exceptional musician, and even though I never met the guy, he seemed to be a very exceptional human being as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Thanks for all the great music Roi, and you will be sorely missed…
Ill leave you with a video of one of my favorite performances by LeRoi, or the band for that matter. Its long, but if you have some time to kill, its worth a watch.

What a sad day. On the other hand, the band in heaven just got a little cooler.
I agree with Joe, another person added to the list of people I’d like to meet in heaven. In a music industry these days primarily focused on pop-punk, and lip synching female pop vocalists, Dave Matthews Band brings an amazing change of pace to the radio. Sax is an instrument rarely featured in modern music and LeRoi Moore did a great job of bringing the sax back. This is a sad day for Dave Matthews Band and fans, as well as the music industry as a whole.
