With the NCAA basketball tournament in full effect it’s time that we come clean about a little secret we’ve been keeping. Any time that we play in a town on the same night as a big sporting event that town’s team loses. It’s actually kinda scary how true this has been. We noticed the trend this time last year during the NCAA tournament. Let me recap:

  • 3.16.2007: We played in Little Rock, AR. The Razorbacks lost to USC (60-77).
  • 3.23.2007: We played in Nashville, TN. Vanderbilt lost a heartbreaker to Georgetown (65-66)
  • 3.24.2007: We played in Memphis, TN. #2 seed Memphis got routed by the Ohio State (76-92).

Not to mention that we were in Columbia, MO earlier this year when this happened.

If either Arkansas or Oklahoma are still alive next weekend then we would like to apologize in advance to Fayetteville, AR and Norman, OK.

[UPDATE: 3.24.2008 16:59:00] Looks like we won’t get the chance to find out if our bad luck continues. If you live near Fayetteville, AR or Norman, OK and need a my-team-is-no-longer-in-the-NCAA-tourney pick me up. You know where to find us.
