Real Life Hits

Wow, when we came back from a week in Nashville, real life certainly hit. I (Russ) have been learning the ropes of being a stay-at-home-dad. Since I’m a full-time musician/artist, that means I’m at home during the days I’m not on the road. Doing things like blogging, editing videos, etc. don’t come as easy when you’re almost 2-year-old kid is sick. It’s important (to me, anyway) that if we’re going to blog that you see that side of us as well… we don’t just sit in studios all day writing hit songs and hilarious blogs. We wrestle with our kids, walk to the park, teach them how to play fetch with the dog, and watch “Cars” over and over until our eyes bleed. Life is fun and wonderful and adventurous. And it’s hard and challenging and messy.
I get the chance to make music with 4 of my closest friends, travel and meet new people in new places, and when I’m home I’m blessed to be able to spend all day with the greatest family God ever created. I hope I never take this for granted. Most people can’t take their kids to the zoo until the weekend. We can go on a Tuesday morning if we want. My son, Eliot, by the way loves FE.
One of these days I’ll make a find a few minutes to finish the last of the studio videos and I’ll share ‘em. I promise.
We’re back to doing some shows again this weekend, and that’s exciting. We’ll get to try out the new songs we just polished and recorded. If you’re in the areas, here’s where we’re at this week (hope you can come out)…

Eliot’s sick? He just needs sometime with Aunt Manda!!! That will cure him…tell him it is a little less than 4 weeks that it will be me, him and Nana for a long weekend! We are so excited about spending time with El…I mean Eliot. It could get confusing saying El on this blog!!!
